The Troops Were Very Happy With Our Gifts

I heard from my "Scented" Santa yesterday and she said that everyone was really happy with the Christmas gifts that they received from Scents Of Humor. She will be sending pictures of their Christmas gathering as soon as she can.

To those that contributed to the Support Our Troops campaign, thank you so much for making this gift giving experience possible.

May you have a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

The Scents Of Humor Gifts are in the mail!

I heard from my "Scented" Santa yesterday; when I told her that the packages were on their way, she told me how excited she was and that she couldn't wait to receive the gifts for her unit.

She also said that it meant so much that we are thinking about them and that we did something so wonderful for them. She felt that this was a true blessing and the it will mean so much to the soldiers this holiday season!

It was only due to the generous donations that Scents Of Humor received for this campaign; that we were able to make and send gifts for her entire unit! We mailed 20 boxes containing 315 gifts! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

When celebrating the spirit of this holiday season, I hope that you will include our soldiers and say a prayer for them.

As soon as I receive pictures; I will post them.

Join Scents Of Humor in supporting our troops

Well, I'm getting down to the wire; I have 70+ items left to make! I am determined to make my goal of sending over 300 gift items to my "Scented" Santa for distribution!

Please consider donating a Scents Of Humor gift by going to http://www.scentsofhumor.com/ click on the support our troops page and add to cart. Use your own address and the system will calculate the rest.

Some of you may wonder what my motivation is for adopting a soldier to act as my "Scented" Santa. The reason is very simple, I picture myself in some soldier's shoes; away from my country, my home; family and friends. I don't receive any mail, not even a letter from home asking how I'm doing, if I'm making friends, am I getting any sleep, you know, just small talk. I look around my unit and see other soldiers opening letters from their loved ones, maybe a care package and here I sit; waiting for some word from home; anything from someone who cares about me...... and even if I'm one of the lucky ones who hears from my family and friends back home, it encourages me to know that there are others who want to know that I'm doing okay and that we're in their thoughts and their prayers.

These are the thoughts that drive me and I know that together we can let our soldiers know that they are loved, thought of and prayed for all of the time. And even if we can only provide gifts for one unit at a time; it warms my heart to know that we've done the right thing and more importantly, brought a smile to their faces and hopefully it will have brightened their day.

I know that there are many Americans like me who are terribly saddened by the thought of our soldiers not receiving anything from home. I hope that you will join the rest of us in supporting our troops by spreading the word to your family, friends and friends of friends and by donating a Scents Of Humor gift.

Thank you again to those who have already helped by donating to this campaign. Information can be found at http://www.scentsofhumor.com/

Help Scents Of Humor Support Our Troops

Many of you may or may not know that there are soldiers that do not receive any gifts from home. It's heartbreaking, really....

So, last year, I adopted a soldier that took on the task of "Scented" Santa and distributed a small selection of gifts from Scents Of Humor. I received a heartfelt thank you from this group of soldiers along with some great pictures! I decided right then and there that I wanted to send gifts to some of our soldiers every year.

This year's adopted soldier and her unit are stationed in Iraq and I'm delighted to say that she's accepted her role as "Scented" Santa. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be busy in my lab making gifts to send in time for the holidays. I have a lofty goal as there are many soldiers in this unit (over 300) and I would like to send a little something to each and every one of them. However, I need help - I've added a page to my http://www.scentsofhumor.com/ website where you can donate a Scents Of Humor gift to a soldier. You may donate as little as $5.00 plus shipping (minimum $4.80) for each gift.

What you get for your donation:

A smile on a soldier's face
Your name will be posted on this blog as a contributor
Joy in your heart for this act of kindness
My undying gratitude for helping me achieve my goal
